Are you tired of working longer hours but still struggling to get ahead financially? If you're driving for DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart, Amazon Flex, or another gig app, I understand how frustrating it can be to work hard and still feel like you're falling behind.
My name is Shavon George, and I used to do food delivery. I realized that working more hours wasn't necessarily giving me the financial freedom I wanted. I needed to explore another way to earn income that didn't depend entirely on my time, transportation, or physical energy.
That's what led me to explore online business opportunities and high-ticket affiliate marketing.
In this article, I'll explain why I chose this path, what attracted me to Exitus Elite, and why I believe learning online marketing skills can be worth exploring if you're a gig worker looking for another income opportunity.
Important: Affiliate marketing is not guaranteed income. Results depend on factors such as your marketing skills, audience, expenses, sales, and the offer you promote. My goal is to share my experience, not promise that you'll make a specific amount of money.
Watch: Best Side Hustle for Gig Workers
In this video, I explain why I decided to learn high-ticket affiliate marketing and why I'm working toward building an income source outside of food delivery.
My goal isn't to tell gig workers to quit their jobs overnight. It's to encourage you to explore additional options and start creating an exit plan that fits your situation.
Why I Believe Gig Workers Should Explore High-Ticket Affiliate Marketing
Gig work can provide flexibility, but your earnings are often tied to the hours you work, the orders you receive, your expenses, and the availability of work.
High-ticket affiliate marketing offers a different approach. Instead of earning only by completing deliveries or driving passengers, you learn how to promote products, services, or business opportunities and earn commissions when qualifying sales happen.
Here are 15 reasons this business model appealed to me.
1. A Commission Could Help With Bigger Bills
A commission from a higher-priced offer can potentially help with expenses such as rent, insurance, utilities, or debt payments.
For example, a $500 commission could make a meaningful difference in a monthly budget. However, commissions are not guaranteed, and the amount you receive depends on the offer's compensation plan and the conditions of the sale.
2. You May Be Able to Reinvest in Your Business
Once a business begins generating profit, you can consider reinvesting some of it into tools, advertising, content creation, or lead generation.
The important part is to manage your expenses carefully. You shouldn't spend money on advertising or business tools that you cannot afford to lose.
3. You Can Work on Building a Business Outside Your Delivery Hours
You don't necessarily need to stop gig work to begin learning affiliate marketing.
You can use some of your available time to create videos, write blog posts, build an email list, and follow up with interested prospects.
Over time, you can evaluate whether your business is generating enough consistent profit to justify reducing your gig hours.
4. Higher Commissions Can Mean Fewer Sales Are Needed to Reach a Revenue Goal
A higher commission can contribute more revenue per sale than a lower commission.
For instance, earning $500 in gross commissions would require five $100 commissions or one $500 commission.
But remember that a higher-priced offer may also be harder to sell. You still need to attract interested prospects, explain the offer honestly, and help people decide whether it's right for them.
5. You Can Work Toward Reducing Financial Stress
My goal is to build another income source so I have more choices and less dependence on delivery work.
Additional income could eventually help someone build savings, cover essential expenses, or pay down debt. The first priority should be establishing a sustainable business without taking on unnecessary financial risk.
6. Your Health Matters
One of the personal reasons I wanted another option was my experience with a calf injury from food delivery.
Gig work can involve a lot of walking, lifting, driving, and riding. Physical demands can become especially difficult when you're dealing with an injury.
Online business isn't effortless, and it involves its own challenges. However, building digital marketing skills gives me another way to work toward income that isn't entirely dependent on physical labor.
7. You May Have More Choices About Where You Work
An online business can potentially be operated from different locations as long as you have the necessary internet access and can serve your audience.
That flexibility appeals to me because I want more choices about how I spend my time and build my future.
8. You Can Reduce Your Dependence on Physically Demanding Work
Delivery work can put wear and tear on your body and transportation.
Learning to create content, generate leads, and market online offers gives you skills that may support other business opportunities in the future.
It takes time to build those skills, but I believe exploring alternatives is worthwhile.
9. You May Need Fewer Sales to Reach a Commission Target
Let's compare the numbers:
- Five $100 commissions = $500 in gross commissions.
- Two $250 commissions = $500 in gross commissions.
- One $500 commission = $500 in gross commissions.
These are mathematical examples, not predictions of sales or earnings. Your actual results could be lower, including zero, and business expenses can reduce your profit.
10. You Can Work Toward More Time With Family
One of my goals is to have more control over my schedule.
If an online business eventually generates sustainable income, it may give you more flexibility. Until then, balancing gig work with building a business requires time management and realistic expectations.
11. You Can Develop a Digital Business Presence
Affiliate marketing can involve building a website, creating helpful content, developing an email list, and establishing relationships with your audience.
These activities can help you develop a recognizable online presence. Remember that the websites, software, and marketing assets available to you may be governed by the terms of the services you use.
12. You Learn Skills You Can Use Beyond One Opportunity
Some valuable skills include:
- Content creation and video marketing
- Lead generation
- Email marketing
- Copywriting
- Customer communication
- Sales and follow-up
- Website development
- Audience building
These skills can be useful across many online businesses, even if you eventually decide to promote a different offer.
13. You Can Explore Different Payment Options
One feature that attracted me to Exitus Elite was the availability of multiple payment methods for commissions.
The payment methods available to a member can depend on the company's current policies, location, and payment arrangements. Always verify the applicable terms before joining or making financial plans around a potential commission.
14. You Can Take a More Active Role in Growing Your Income
With gig apps, many factors affecting your earnings are outside your control.
With affiliate marketing, you can work on your content, improve your marketing, test different approaches, and follow up with potential customers. You still cannot control whether someone buys, but you can keep improving your process.
15. You Can Start Building Your Exit Plan
This is the biggest reason I chose to explore online business.
I'm not suggesting that anyone quit a reliable source of income without a plan. Instead, I want to encourage gig workers to investigate other opportunities, learn useful skills, and work toward having more than one way to earn money.
For me, that means building my online presence and learning how to market digital business opportunities.
Why I Chose Exitus Elite
After exploring online business opportunities, I decided to join Exitus Elite.
What attracted me was its high-ticket commission structure, digital training, marketing resources, and the opportunity to learn how to promote offers online.
The program offers different membership levels associated with advertised commission amounts of $100, $250, $500, $1,000, and $2,000. The actual amount earned depends on the applicable membership level, compensation rules, and qualifying sales.
Here are some of the features that attracted me.
Digital Training and Marketing Resources
The training topics I've seen include areas such as social media promotion, email marketing, webinars, online business skills, personal development, and building a team.
Learning how to use these marketing methods can help you develop skills that are relevant to online business.
Personalized Website and Capture Pages
Members have access to company-provided website and capture-page resources, subject to the program's terms.
These tools can help you introduce the opportunity to interested people and provide information before a conversation.
I also believe it's important to create helpful content that answers questions instead of relying only on links and promotional messages.
A Company Call Center
One feature that appealed to me was the company's call-center option.
Under the compensation arrangement I've been shown, if the call center closes a qualifying sale, the commission may be reduced by a 20% company fee, leaving the member with 80% of the applicable commission.
For example, on a qualifying $100 commission, that would mean $80 to the member and $20 to the company. Check the current terms to confirm the rules and applicable fees.
Team Support and Additional Resources
I want people who join my team to have support as they learn how to promote the business.
My approach is to help team members understand the available resources, learn marketing fundamentals, and develop a realistic plan for finding prospects.
I also want people to understand what they're joining before they make a financial commitment.

If you're considering joining any affiliate marketing program, take the time to review its costs, compensation plan, refund policy, products, and terms. Compare it with other opportunities and make sure you understand how commissions are earned.
Escaping the Delivery Trap: My Real Story
My interest in online business is personal.
Food delivery was a way for me to earn money, but I didn't want my future to depend entirely on continuing to work delivery hours.
My calf injury made me think even more seriously about having other options. When your income relies on being physically able to work, an injury can make earning money more difficult.
That's one reason I'm working on my online business. I want to develop skills and build an additional income source over time.
I'm still on the journey, and I'm not going to pretend that everything happens overnight. Building an audience, learning marketing, generating leads, and making sales all take effort.
My goal is to keep learning, keep improving, and work toward a future where I have more choices.

Inside Exitus Elite: Quick System Tour
Before considering an online business opportunity, I believe it's helpful to see what the actual system looks like.
In this video, I walk viewers through the Exitus Elite resources available to members, including the back office, capture pages, and personalized website.
Watching a tour can help you understand the tools and resources being offered. However, a tour alone doesn't establish that a program is profitable or that every member will earn money.
Use it as one part of your research, alongside the compensation plan, written terms, costs, and your own assessment of the business model.
Is Exitus Elite Legit? My Experience Since Joining
This is an important question to ask before joining any business opportunity.
My experience is one perspective, and I encourage prospective members to conduct their own research.
When evaluating Exitus Elite—or any affiliate marketing program—consider these questions:
- What products, services, or training are being sold?
- What does it cost to join and maintain membership?
- How are commissions calculated and paid?
- Are there refund or cancellation conditions?
- What marketing claims are being made, and can they be substantiated?
- Can members earn through genuine product or service sales, and how does the compensation plan work?
- What happens if you don't make any sales?
- Are you comfortable with the financial risk?
I also recommend reviewing the company's current written terms and seeking independent information rather than relying exclusively on promotional videos or testimonials.
I can share what I've personally experienced, but I cannot guarantee your results or establish that a business is legally compliant simply from my own participation.
Watch this video to hear my perspective and learn more about my experience since joining.
My advice is to ask questions, understand the costs, and make an informed decision based on your own circumstances.
Is High-Ticket Affiliate Marketing Right for You?
High-ticket affiliate marketing may be worth researching if you:
- Want to learn digital marketing.
- Are willing to create content consistently.
- Can communicate with potential customers honestly.
- Are prepared to learn sales and follow-up.
- Understand that income is uncertain.
- Can evaluate the costs without putting essential bills at risk.
It may not be the right choice if you need guaranteed money immediately to cover rent, groceries, or other essential expenses. Building a business takes time, and there is no guarantee of making a sale.
If you need income now, consider keeping a reliable income source while exploring business opportunities at a pace you can afford.
My Advice to Gig Workers: Start Building Your Exit Plan
You don't have to figure everything out in one day.
Start by identifying your income goals, researching business models, and choosing a skill you can develop consistently.
If affiliate marketing interests you, learn how to create useful content, attract the right audience, explain an offer clearly, and follow up without pressuring people.
That's the direction I'm taking as I work toward building income outside of food delivery.
I want to create more options for my future, improve my financial situation, and reduce my dependence on physically demanding work.
And I want to share what I learn with other gig workers who are looking for a different path.
